Flat Creek

Flat Creek provides some big smallmouth bass in the springtime. This Creek is full of fish holding structure. A typical trip is from 4 to 6 hours and provides opportunities for Swimming, fishing, relaxing, and canoeing. Flat Creek is one of my favorites when a child has never caught a fish as it’s an easier float for those youngsters.

If you like the idea of getting your family out on the river, and have a safer place to do it Flat Creek in the early summer is a good choice for beginning floaters.

The Riverways of Cape Fair offer a well deserved break from the hassles of city life. Our peaceful bluff lined rivers are filled with a variety of wildlife. The watchful canoeist could spot any number of creatures including: river otters, white tailed deer, beavers, shrews and chipmunks, possibly even a bald eagle as the Missouri Riverways host the highest concentration of bald eagles during the winter months. Float trips on the Flat Creek make perfect get-aways for nature enthusiasts with clear water highlighting the variety of fish abounding and several types of birds seeking their next meal. You might even spot a bobcat if you keep your eyes open!

The change in seasons brings a beautiful cycle of colorful fall foliage and sweet smells of spring, while still providing mild winters and pleasant summers. Your opportunity to experience a real nature adventure awaits.
